On a cold Friday morning, a team of wedding professionals were up and ready to create a photo shoot for Carmelina Karas, the Editor and C.E.O. of The Wedding Planner Magazine. This shoot for the Editor’s Note was to accompany the redesign and rebranding of the magazine to hit stores March 1, 2014. Led by Creative Director and new Layout and Design specialist for the magazine, Margarita Oudalova, the team assembled at Toscana Banquet Hall in Vaughan to start their work.
Hair and Makeup artist Katerina Rapoport quickly got to work creating loose curls to enhance the naturally soft waves in the Carmelina’s hair. She opted for a natural look for the makeup with a soft pink lip and added false daytime lashes to complete the image.
Next, Rubén Cisneros, Fashion Student at Ryerson University and Stylist for this shoot, brought in an array of clothing and jewellery from H&M to select the perfect outfit for the shoot. While this was going on, Tiffany and Dan from Aura Atelier, were setting up their backdrop for the shoot and getting Behind the Scenes shots displayed throughout this post.
The shoot began as Carmelina struck a pose in front of the white backdrop and, directed by Tiffany, was shown how to use different movements to create different interactions with the camera.
The natural light shining through the large windows in the Banquet Hall were perfect and only a small amount of flash was needed to accentuate certain details.
Creative Director Margarita coordinated the different shots that were needed for the final product and the rest of the team watched with SmartPhones on hand, sharing more Behind the Scenes images on multiple social media venues.
The shoot was a success and a lot of fun and the final product is now being used in the Spring 2014 issue of The Wedding Planner Magazine, coming out March 1st, 2014. You can find your copy of The Wedding Planner Magazine at your local Chapters Indigo stores or at various Bridal Shows around the Greater Toronto Area.
Finally, a big thank you to all the vendors involved from The Wedding Planner Magazine to be able to make this photo shoot happen. As always, looking forward to working together again soon!
