This past Tuesday, February 24th, we had the opportunity to celebrate life and love at our networking event, For the Love of Beauty. Put together by Annmarie Borosic of Event Culture with Creative Direction by Margarita Oudalova of Oudalova Events & Design and some of our staff, it was certainly an evening to remember!
I arrived just after three in the afternoon, as setup was in full swing. Musicians were practising, soundchecks were being performed, and booths were being arranged as the final touches were put on the décor and the last goodies stuffed into swag bags. By seven, we were all ready – the only thing left to do was open the doors!
Guests were greeted upon arrival at the check-in table, and asked to give the craziest thing they’d ever done – to be written on their name tags as an ice breaker! They were also given little missions for the evening, and then were ushered into the party to the elegant sounds of Justin Sousa Guitar.
&Company Resto Bar provided the perfect background for a sophisticated soiree, while dozens of Helix Candles Luminaries candles scattered around the bar and booths and enchanting fragrance from PartyLite Canada emphasized the beauty and romance of the occasion. The venue’s team of chefs and wait staff provided savoury appetizers throughout the evening, and The Cake Baker offered delectable sweets.
With a Hard Peach (The Wedding Planner Magazine’s signature drink for the evening) in hand, I watched the evening unfold. Sound X Entertainment kept the beat going throughout the event, and The Selfie Spot Photobooth offered a great place to have a little fun with new friends and connections. You may have seen some of our staff’s photos earlier this week!
Vendors lined the venue’s dance floor, showcasing everything from The Sweetest Thing Cakes’ tasty treats and Floraville’s beautiful creations, to makeup and beauty tips and tricks from Younique and Creation of Beauty, to the flexible talents of Kings Promotions. Dapper men’s suits were shown off at the Empire Customs table, and LiBoys Hair Studio provided sample services to the men present. Everywhere I looked, I saw people having a good time and making great new connections. The night came to an end as Damian Yonge serenaded the guests with his guitar and vocals and Titan Productions, our videographers for the evening, pointed their camera at the final scene.
The end of the evening almost came too early, and before I knew it, Carmelina, Editor & C.E.O. of The Wedding Planner Magazine, was making her speech and giving away prizes. Guests left the party with swag bags in hand, filled with baked goodies, great information and even an early bird copy of the magazine!
Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make For the Love of Beauty such a wonderful, fun-filled night!
